Enquiry – Complaint against a Private College, Breach of contract

To whom it may concern,

Good day,

I trust you are well.

I kindly request your assistance in this matter.

I have enrolled in studying NQF5 – Graphic Design (1 year course) at The Academic Institute of Excellence (AIE), Midrand.

There were so much confusion in their training program and there weren’t any structional direction as to the study material and general guidelines.

I applied as a part time student which included Saturday classes and also online classes.

AIE’s admitted to not linking me to the Course’s Subject on the Online Student Portal and therefore I couldn’t access classes or study material.

AIE’s response to my cancellation is that my complaint has no ground in cancelling or asking for a full refund.

Please find below some of the serious issues I have brought to everyone’s attention:

* It is not possible to have passed the Course without study material or class.

* There were no Sat. Classes to attend during the 1st Subject, but the Part Time Student Contract I accepted, mentioned to have Sat. Classes with a lecturer at the college.

* The lecturer didn’t cover all the work on the first subject which we had to complete and submit assignments that counted for marks and will be added to a students Portfolio of Evidence at the end of the year to be submitted to companies in search of employment.

* Students were told, if they fail the subject, they won’t be allowed to move to the next Subject, as the student will be marked as not yet competent.

*** And many other problems I have referred to them. ***

With all my evidence of the college not being competent, AIE refuses to cancel my Student contract and to refund me.

I have submitted my complaint and all evidence to the college, AIE, and to DHET.

I  endeavored to improving myself so that I can take better care of my son.

My efforts have exploded in my face due to the college not fulfilling the requirements as per their contract.

Debit orders continue to go of my bank account.

I kindly request for your assistance or for advise on how to go about this matter and getting a full refund of all my money paid to AIE.
